Our Objectives
In furtherance of its Vision and Mission, FREXA shall undertake the following objectives:
Policy Advocacy & Trade Facilitation
- Engage with government authorities, trade councils, and policymakers to advocate supportive export policies and an enabling regulatory environment
- Collaborate with international trade bodies, embassies, and global institutions to enhance bilateral and multilateral market access
- Represent Indian exporters at global platforms including trade fairs, delegations, export summits, and industry forums
- Lobby for favourable phytosanitary, quarantine, and trade measures under WTO, Codex Alimentarius, and international frameworks
Quality, Compliance & Export Readiness
- Facilitate access to accredited laboratories for residue testing, phytosanitary certification, and quality analysis
- Develop, promote, and enforce best practices in cultivation, post-harvest handling, packaging, and compliance
- Promote adoption of pre-export protocols such as pre-cooling, vapour heat treatment, hot water dips, and irradiation where required
- Establish export-readiness benchmarking and certification programs for members
- Encourage traceability systems including barcoding, QR-based tracking, and blockchain-enabled solutions
Market Development & Global Promotion
- Promote Indian fresh produce globally through branding initiatives, GI tagging, digital campaigns, and participation in international exhibitions
- Work with global retail chains, importers, and buyers to position India as a reliable, quality-centric supplier
- Organize buyer–seller meets, B2B sessions, virtual trade interactions, and reverse buyer missions
- Support product diversification including niche, exotic, and value-added fresh produce aligned with global demand trends
Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct training programs, workshops, and skill-building initiatives for exporters, growers, logistics providers, and stakeholders
- Publish market intelligence reports, export dashboards, analytics, and trade updates for informed decision-making
- Collaborate with academic and research institutions to develop export-oriented horticulture and post-harvest programs
Infrastructure, Logistics & Sustainability
- Advocate for logistics and infrastructure support including cold chain development, port efficiency, air cargo facilitation, and refrigerated transport
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices, ESG-aligned sourcing, and responsible supply chains
- Facilitate public-private partnerships with central and state governments for export infrastructure and support schemes
- Support R&D in post-harvest technology to reduce waste, extend shelf life, and improve packaging innovations
Inclusive Growth & Member Support
- Enable export participation of small and marginal farmers through aggregation models, cooperatives, and FPOs
- Act as a central grievance redressal platform for exporters facing regulatory, operational, or trade-related challenges
- Facilitate access to export finance, subsidies, credit insurance, and institutional funding
- Promote gender inclusion, fair trade practices, and equitable participation across the export ecosystem
- Establish dispute resolution and arbitration mechanisms for trade-related conflicts
Recognition & Industry Advancement
- Institute annual awards recognising excellence in exports, innovation, sustainability, and market development
- Undertake any other activity, initiative, or collaboration that contributes to the growth, sustainability, and overall advancement of India’s fresh produce export industry and the welfare of its members
